WINNER: Big Ideas for Better Health Award 2018
Arthur’s Place is the winner of the “Delivering Care Closer to Home” category of the Big Ideas for Better Health Awards 2018. Organised by AbbVie and The Patients Association, the awards are judged by an independent multi-disciplinary panel of judges.
The judges were looking for outstanding examples of improvement and innovation that demonstrate clear benefits to the lives of patients to make our health service more sustainable.
The Delivering Care Closer to Home category recognises and celebrates the very best example of projects that free up NHS resources by allowing for care to be delivered outside of the traditional healthcare setting.
The Award was presented to Arthur’s Place by Matt Hancock, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care at the House of Commons.
WINNER: Patients In Focus Gold Award
Arthur’s Place is a winner of the prestigious National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society Patients In Focus Gold Award, a prize given each year to the one project in the UK deemed to be the most innovative, inspiring and helpful for people living with arthritis.
The award was presented to Arthur’s Place founder Andrea McBride by NRAS chief executive Ailsa Bosworth at Rheumatology 2014, the British Society for Rheumatology conference, in front of an audience of rheumatology experts and professionals.
“It’s such a privilege to win this award,” says Andrea. “It’s so important to know that what we’re doing at Arthur’s Place is of genuine value to young people. We respect NRAS’s work hugely and its stamp of approval means a lot to us.”
