My name is Charlotte, I’m 22, and I have lived with Arthritis for 21 years after I was diagnosed at 14 months old.
Living with Arthritis can be a rollercoaster but over the years I’ve learnt methods to manage and deal with everyday’s obstacles and trials.
I currently live with my Mum Deborah, and our little dog Tallulah, in the beautiful seaside village of Milford on Sea.
I am currently studying Psychology at the Open University and myself and my mother are trying to set up our own business. As well, each of us are trying to run and set up our own blogs and my mum’s Youtube channel.
My mum and I both find the kitchen our sanctuary whenever life is turbulent, for one reason or another, and we often find ourselves migrating to the kitchen where we spend many an afternoon baking lovely tasty treats that make those bad days seem better.
I have also over the years developed a passion for all things beauty and fashion and how these can be adapted to suit an individual’s needs. I myself have visual issues caused by the arthritis and always felt sad when I couldn’t wear eye makeup like my friends could, but have found products and have developed ways that I can use them without causing problems.
I have always said to friends and family that I would love to find a place where people like me, with similar issues, can support each other and share ideas as well as advice to help each other on how to get through everyday life and its obstacles.
Because of this I now have a keen interest in sharing techniques and recommendations for anyone who may have similar difficulties, like finding the right comfortable shoes or how to deal with the not so nice side effects of medication, and how to adapt to these changes.
I only recently found the Arthur’s Place website and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be blogging for Arthur’s Place
It has taken me a while to find out what works best for me and my arthritis, and it can take a lot of trial and error, but I hope together we can encourage and help each other to be the best we can, and to not let our limitations hold us back.
