Photographer Margot Giannaklis, 25, was diagnosed with arthritis at Uni. We asked her to keep a photo diary for one week; the result is a set of beautiful and thought-provoking images (click to enlarge)
Day 1 - This is my local hospital. When I'm not well or in flare-up it can feel like I'm never away from it.
Day 1 - Sometimes these kind of posters get to me, especially when I haven’t been well. They are far too upbeat for my liking!
Day 1 - Nights out are tricky but it’s important to socialise and enjoy other people's company.
Day 2 - Might have overdone it last night...
Day 3 - Headed to the Edinburgh Film Festival as film studies are my background and it’s a lively place to be. I saw two films.
Day 3 - I never really noticed these before but I notice them more and more.
Day 4 - Blood test day. Still can’t look at blood being taken after five years of regular tests.
Day 5 - Everything is more painful now and it starts to drain my energy. Its hard to focus on other things with conviction.
Day 6 - Methotrexate day. It took a lot to convince me this was the right way to go, but it was. I am fine with taking this medicine and self-injecting.
Day 7 - I had physio today and this guy was in the department. I find them sinister and comical in equal measures.
